		<description>Ooh - a very tasty treat. They&#039;re made with oats, flour, butter, brown sugar, golden syrup (a cane version of honey), a little hot water, baking soda and optional coconut flakes.

The story is that they&#039;re named after the Australian and  New Zealand Army Corps - forces joined together during WWI. Because the ingredients don&#039;t spoil quickly, they were sent to troops during the war.

Now, ANZAC day is an entirely different matter - it commemorates the huge losses of the corps at Gallipoli, and is observed on April 25. There&#039;s lots of info about that on the interwebs, of course, but this should give you the quick overview!</description>
