Thanks, Amy! Turns out you can buy these pens that look just like magic markers, but the ink is food coloring. How cool is that? I looked for them in a few kitcheny stores and finally found them at JoAnn's. I bet a place like Sur la Table would have them as well.
It did make me excited to think of an edible promotion - catches the eye, sweetens the day, and no extra trash. Of course the cuties thing has the benefit of being healthy too. Best of all worlds. I hope the idea might come in handy for you too! In the meantime, I'm regarding every piece of food as a potential canvas...

the advertising on oranges is genius! i really love that idea, laura. i'd love to write about it on my blog, too. it is such a clever way to do a useful promotion to that audience. what is a food marker??

Tom - yep, I'll try to get that video up this weekend. I was just too sleepy last night.

John - sure! Thanks for asking. I've bookmarked your site - love that photo of Greg's Electrified Big Dummy! And here I was feeling all excited about my teeny strand of LED Christmas lights. I clearly need to raise the bar a bit.

Joe - You simply cannot appreciate how dusty the bike paths get around here. It's shocking, I tell you. Can you imagine - if I lived out near you guys, I'd have to haul a snowblower around instead!

Nice bike post.

It was so much fun to ride over to Tiburon together. Are you going to post that awesome steadicam movie as well?

BTW - remember when that bag (above) use to be purple. Good days.

You're getting compulsive when you're vacuuming bike paths, Laura. Let it go, just let it go.

And I know what you mean about the variable speed with ages six to more than six. It can be very difficult for older folks to keep up.
