Upgrading Kleenex
I had some time on my hands this morning, so I decided to improve our Kleenex situation. It only took a couple of hours to sew up new covers for all the tissue boxes in the house, and make custom 200-count cotton tissues to match the colors in the bathrooms and bedrooms.
They look so much nicer than the boxes you get at the store.
Plus, now we can just wash the tissues and reuse. They’re about the size of small handkerchiefs, so they’ll be a snap to wash, press and replace. Don’t you just love it when everything matches?
Ok everyone, don’t worry. I haven’t turned into an uber-Martha. Happy April first!

This is a great project. I love handmade personal care products – they are simply the best.
Have you considered embroidering some sort of expression on each tissue? It would be nice to get a little message every time your nose is runny, something like:
Just an idea.

We wondered all day what you would be up to. Now we know–at least one. Should have been suspicious at “I had some time on my hands.” Nicely done–I’m with Amy!

You totally had me fooled…I was really shaking my head in disbelief. The question is, where did those pictures come from, if you didn’t really do this?

Joe – ahh the magic of fabric scraps, a pair of scissors, some scotch tape and 5 minutes!
